My passion is learning and teaching others! I hold NJ teacher certification in high school social studies and middle school Spanish. My passion for the Spanish lanuage began as a child growing up in Queens, NY. Although I grew up in an English speaking household, the neighborhood where I lived was home to immigrants from all over Latin America. Now, after more than 16 years of studying the language formally and informally, I read, write, understand, and speak Spanish fluently with a native accent. I have traveled to Machu Picchu in Peru and Santiago in the Dominican Republic. In addition, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Spanish Literature from Montclair State University. As your tutor, I hope to share the knowledge and understanding that I have acquired throughtout the years with regards to this beautiful culture and language. Please feel free to contact me today!

Christine is an outstanding professional. She is knowledgeable, very organized and proficient, and she is never late. She has a very cheerful personality, and is a wonderful role model for kids of any age. She connected easily with my rebellious teen daughter, whose school report stated for Spanish as "in danger of failure." I liked Christine's WyzAnt profile because she stated an understanding and love for the structure of the language and its grammar. She didn't lie! My daughter's grade improved almost overnight, and she was happy to work with Christine some more. Two months later she graduated with a 96! I highly recommend Christine as a Spanish tutor, and also for help with learning routine, organization, and time management - everything most middle school students are struggling with but are having problems communicating about.
Christine was great! We called desperate for help before a big Spanish test and she came that afternoon! She is friendly, encouraging and really knew how to help my son in his AP Spanish III. I would recommend Christine to others having difficulty with Spanish.
Christine has been a delight to work with, very supportive and reassuring of my feeble beginnings.
She suggested a textbook that I find very useful for my beginner level. She has also recommended a bi-lingual story book for home reading that I find very useful.
In short, Christine is a skilled teacher with excellent command of her subject and works with me at a pace that makes the process enjoyable, challenging and effective.
Christine is very patient and motivating, she adapts well to my learning needs just as a Professional Tutor should, I would recommend her to anyone I know that is trying to learn Spanish as a second language.
Christine is a wonderful teacher. A very punctual and patient person. Christine was able to recognize the level of Spanish I was at and apply her curriculum at an effective pace that I felt comfortable with. Also, I thought it was great that Christine's first language is English, therefore, she was able to explain the Spanish grammar in a way I could understand. I would highly recommend Christine to my close family and friends. You will not be disappointed!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

As a professional Spanish and English tutor and teacher, I can help you appreciate and grasp the various rules and reasons behind English and Spanish grammar and writing. Please contact me today!
Sociology is a field of study closely related to Political Science. In college, I aced a number of classes focusing on Income Inequality, Distribution of Resources, Racial Demographics of the U.S. and Latin America, Urban Dynamics, and more. I thoroughly enjoyed my work in Sociology and I would be happy to help anyone who is looking to improve in that subject area.
I take a very strategic approach when it comes to teaching Spanish. I believe it is important to learn the grammar step-by-step, since our brains do not process information the same way they did when we were children. Nevertheless, knowledge of the culture and values of any language system are paramount when it comes to learning that language. I thoroughly enjoy teaching my students about the different idiosyncrasies of Spanish so that they can gain a greater appreciation for them. I look forward to hearing from you so you too can learn to speak one of the most widely spoken languages in the world!
