New Jersey Inst. of Technology (Applied Mathematics)
I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics from New Jersey Institute of Technology. I just earned my mathematics teacher certification with the Urban Education at Rutgers University Newark. My student teaching experience included two semesters of teaching mathematics at Science Park High School in Newark. During this experience, I have instructed eleventh and twelfth graders. These instructions included: pre-calculus, probability statistics, integrated geometry, and discrete mathematics. The mathematics department was able to rely on my teaching methods, while often complimenting my work performance. I am eager to help students understand the concept of mathematics. I tutored at Essex County College, and, I worked with the after school program at Avon Elementary School Newark.

Alain has been tutoring my son (now 19 years old) for the past two years. His success has been spectacular. My son went from being a poor math student to getting the top grade in his class. Alain is a truly great math teacher, patient and impatient in the right degree. He listens well, understands what baffles his students, and knows how to get his point across in a way that will be remembered. I recommend him to you heartily.
Alain is friendly, patient and relaxed. He knows precalculus and presents the material in a manner that is easy to follow.
Again, I would like to say working with Alain is a learning experience and looking forward to requesting his assistance again for future class (Statistics). He is terrific!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in Applied Math, and I possess a NJ standard certificate math teacher.
This course is designed to cover topics in Algebra ranging from polynomial, rational, and exponential functions to conic sections. Trigonometry concepts such as Law of Sines and Cosines will be introduced. Students will then begin analytic geometry and calculus concepts such as limits, derivatives, and integrals. This class is important for any student planning to take a college algebra or college pre-calculus class.
