About Ritesh

I have an expert level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). I acquired these skills as an Information Technology Consultant. I have designed, developed, and implemented applications for organizations in various industry sectors, including Investment Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, etc. The applications allowed the novice end-user to harness the maximum capabilities of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access without having to become an expert or power user.

During the implementation phase of the consulting projects, the end-users had to be trained and/or tutored with regards to the utilization of Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access and/or the application that was developed. This is where I gained experience in tutoring end-users with a variety of knowledge and skills. Some were intermediate users, but for the most part, the users were novices with little to no experience with Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. I was able to cater the training/tutoring process to the unique requirements of each user in order to maximize the level of knowledge and skill acquisition.

The individuals that I have trained/tutored in the past have been adults; however, I am willing to tutor college and high school students who are interested in learning about Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as well as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

I can assist individuals with no prior experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as well as seasoned users who want to expand into the development of applications by utilizing Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Individuals without any prior computer experience are also welcome. I do not assume that a student will have a specific set of computer skills. Instead, I let the student develop the required set of computer skills through the tutoring sessions. I enable the student to develop the required skills by setting their own pace. Each student is unique and will have a different set of questions. By tailoring the tutoring sessions to each student's way of learning, the process of gaining the knowledge and skills is more productive and enjoyable.

Individuals with previous experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access can further enhance their knowledge and skills by learning about Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and how it can be used to maximize the capabilities and productivity of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

The development of the applications can be achieved through the utilization of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in conjunction with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. The applications are structured as 3-tiered (front-end, middle-tier, and back-end) systems. The front-end consists of the graphical user interface (GUI). The middle-tier is the modular VBA code that instructs, controls, and interacts with the front-end and the back-end. The back-end is where the data is stored. The applications provide an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that insulates the end-user from the complexities and intricacies of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Furthermore, the applications automate the execution of a wide variety of manual tasks that would otherwise require an end-user to complete directly.

In addition, I have a high level of proficiency with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Microsoft Access

I have an expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Access as well as the development of complete 3-tiered applications through the utilization of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in conjunction with Microsoft Access. I acquired these skills as an Information Technology Consultant. I have designed, developed, and implemented applications for organizations in various industry sectors, including Investment Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, etc. The applications allowed the novice end-user to harness the maximum capabilities of Microsoft Access without having to become an expert or power user.

Some were intermediate users, but for the most part, the users were novices with little to no experience with Microsoft Access. I was able to cater the training/tutoring process to the unique requirements of each user in order to maximize the level of knowledge and skill acquisition.

The full potential of Microsoft Access is realized with the development of a complete 3-tiered application utilizing Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This would be for those individuals that are interested in the Advanced Level lesson plans.

A complete 3-tiered application involves the design and development of the end-user interface forms (also known as the front-end or GUI or the graphical user interfaces), the middle-tier (the VBA code), and the back-end (the database itself).

The back-end (the database) consists of tables that store/contain the data for the application. The middle-tier contains the modular VBA code that instructs, controls, and interacts with the front-end (GUI) and the back-end (the database). The front-end (GUI) allows the end-user to fully harness the maximum capabilities of the application seamlessly and without requiring any programming or other technical knowledge.

Visual Basic

As an Information Technology Consultant, I have designed, developed, and implemented applications utilizing Visual Basic (VB) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in conjunction with the Microsoft Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office Suite for organizations in various industry sectors, including Investment Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, etc. The applications allowed the novice end-user to utilize the maximum capabilities of Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite without having to become an expert or power user.

Visual Basic (VB) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) provide the software developer with a set of tools that can harness the maximum capabilities of the Microsoft Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office Suite. The developers can create turn-key applications and systems that are based upon a three-tiered architecture. The three tiers consist of the graphical user interface (the GUI or the front-end), the VB/VBA code modules (the middle tier), and the information storage and management system (the database or the back-end).

In my capacity as a Project Manager, I had the opportunity to train new and junior software developers with regards to Visual Basic (VB) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The developers were introduced to the overall process of creating new projects utilizing VB and VBA as well as the fundamental concepts of programming with VB/VBA. In order to enhance the training program, the developers were provided with discrete, incremental, and ordered development objectives that had to be completed as a prerequisite to the next objective in the project development process. This allowed the developers to thoroughly learn and understand the basics of the Visual Basic programming language before moving on to more complex and challenging concepts. Each incremental step in the process established a solid foundation for the developers to build the subsequent set of modules. By the end of the project, the new and junior software developers had acquired the knowledge, skills, and experience that enabled them to create and develop future projects on their own.
