Hello future students and parents!
I am currently a fourth grade teacher in a wonderful district in Morris County, NJ. I absolutely love my job. It is amazing to be able to turn a passion into a career. I am now looking to branch out and help more students who need that extra push and a little bit of help to succeed and be the best students they can be. I am certified to teach grade K-6, but would be willing to work with students of any age. I received my bachelor's degree in English from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. That is where I also received my teaching certificate. I also have a master's degree in science from East Stroudsburg University.
I am a very patient and hardworking individual. I have many years of experience working with children. I worked for 4 years at a school for children with developmental disabilities. It was one of the toughest, but most rewarding jobs I have ever had. I also worked as a paraprofessional in a public school. I am now in my 2nd full year teaching fourth grade and I absolutely love it. I implement the common core standards daily and am also preparing my students for the PARCC test. I am available to tutor after 5pm on weekdays. I am also willing to travel up to 10 miles to tutor. I will also consider up to 15 miles.
Thank you for your consideration! Hello future students and parents!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently teaching fourth grade and implementing the common core standards in every lesson I teach. I am also preparing students for the PARCC test.
I am currently working with kindergarten students in a basic skills program on letter recognition using the handwriting without tears program. I am also working with the kindergarten teachers on learning the phonics first program to help my kindergarten basic skills students achieve success.
