I have taught in Newington, CT for the past three years. I have Special Education, Math Intervention, and was lead the School-Wide Math Intervention Team. I received a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology, from the University of Connecticut. I also received my Bachelor of Science degree from UConn, in Special Education and as well as Mathematics.
I have experience teaching all grade levels, from K-12. I have also had experience tutoring college age students, and Division I athletes. I have completed courses in reading instruction, technology, writing, and history; In addition to my degrees in Special Education and Mathematics. I am ready for anything!
At the University of Connecticut I have immersed myself within the academic culture, as well as extracurricular activities. I was a University of Connecticut Cheerleader from 2010-2011. Through this experience, I was a part of the NCAA National Basketball Championship Team, Big East Basketball Championship Team, and The Big East Football Championship Football team. My involvement within these events created a great sense of school pride, confidence, and energy.
In addition to sports, I have also been heavily involved in community. At the University of Connecticut, I was an active member of the community service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Sigma Chapter. Through this organization and personal service volunteering, I completed over 300 hours of community service. My proudest accomplishment was the founding and creating Providing Warmth to Windham. My Master’s Internship, Supporting Homeless Families, allowed me the opportunity to support homeless students in Windham, CT.
I am very passionate about exploring self expression through art. I love painting, drawing, creating, and inspiring. I encourage my students to channel emotions through the medium of their choice.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in Comprehensive Special Education. I currently teach 9th grade students who have ADD/ADHD, LD, ED, and Autism.
I have tutored a student with Aspergers, one on one, for 2 years. This student was a Special Education student of mine during student teaching. His parents were so impressed with his social skills improvement, they hired me as a tutor for all subjects, organization, and social skills improvement. I have had comprehensive classes to teach skills needed to work with students who have Autism.
My first teaching experience was a co-teacher in the Autism Summer Program at Whiton Elementary school. I worked with these students every day for two months in the summer, ranging from ages pre-K to 2nd grade. Since then, I have given numerous speeches to high school students on academic integrity, bullying, and managing emotional distress.
