Math and science has always fascinated and enhanced my curiosity. As a graduate student, I have persevered through advanced graduate and PhD level courses in applied and theoretical math and sciences. This has provided to be a solid foundation, asserting my knowledge and understanding of the subjects. In past years, I have had to privilege to work with many students ranging from kindergartners to high school level in various subjects.
I specialize in tutoring math, physics and basic technical & engineering level sciences for schools. I have a knack for working with the student at their pace and am versatile in my teaching methods depending on student, since not all of us learn the same way. Despite working at their level, one of my objectives is to constantly challenge the student and help drive their weakness into strength.
As a engineer, you must be sound in the various cores that make up mathematics: Calculus, Geometry, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra to name a few. To solve engineering problems, you must use the principles of these subjects and adapt them to the unique problem and derive to a result. Moreover, a lot of the engineering sciences such as Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Dynamics of Incompressible Fluids and Fluid Mechanics rely heavily on the fundamentals of physics and mathematics.
For me teaching others is about making a difference in someone’s life and inspiring them to pursue things they didn’t think were possible. Speaking from experience, my algebra teacher was the reason I decided to pursue a career in math and engineering.
I am a big proponent of feedback and generally stay in touch with parents for this reason. Constructive criticism is always necessary; hence in the event that the student or the parents aren’t completely satisfied, I will offer a refund.
I am available during the evenings on weekdays and flexible during the weekends.
Lastly, I prefer study spaces where the student is comfortable and can’t be easily distracted. I am willing to travel to the student’s home, meet at a local library and or a local coffee shop.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
