Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

General Computer

I have a Masters degree in computer science from The College of William & Mary. I was a professional computer programmer for 6 years working for Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). For more than 20 years I was a computer programmer using Foxpro database management software developing database programs for business purposes. Additionally, in business I helped many people with computer problems and helped them learn how to use computers.

Microsoft Excel

I have used Excel and other spreadsheet programs extensively for more than 20 years. I have classroom teaching experience as a past instructor for the Mount Laurel community education program.

Microsoft Windows

I have been working with computers since 1977. In 1980 I received a masters degree in computer science from The College of William and Mary. I was a professional computer programmer from 1980 to 1986. I began using computers running MS-DOS in 1986. Subsequently, I have used computers running MS-DOS and most of the versions of Microsoft Windows to version 10.

Microsoft Word

I have used Microsoft Word and other word processing programs extensively for more than 20 years. I have classroom teaching experience as a past instructor for the Mount Laurel community education program.

Public Speaking

I was a member of a Toastmasters club for 10 years. Toastmasters is an international organization dedicated to the personal growth of its members in the areas of communications and leadership. I have taught public speaking classes for Toastmasters members and I have taught public speaking in the Mount Laurel community education program. I also taught a public speaking course to employees of the Burlington County Library System.
