Roni helped my daughter with different kinds of factoring for her Honors Algebra class. She explained it all very well and now my daughter feels prepared to take her test tomorrow!

I contacted Roni two days before my son's math midterm and she immediately set up a tutoring session. Roni was very prepared for the session and reviewed all the material with my son. She even provided him with some very efficient math techniques. My son related to Roni very well. He even told her at the end of the session that he would like to have her tutor him in the future. He received an A on the midterm. I highly recommend Roni.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

For many children, algebra is the first introduction to mathematics with variables. While it may be simple to solve a problem such as x + 6 = 14, students discover that the problems become more complex quickly involving multiple steps and operations. I am happy to assist your child in make sense of Algebra so that they are able to make sense of any problem they encounter.

I have taken a college mathematics course in Discrete Structures. It was an accelerated course (over the summer) so we learned a semesters worth of Discrete in less than 6 weeks. I earned an A in the course. I really enjoyed the subjects and often helped my peers to grasp concepts as it was difficult to understand our professor because he was foreign. I have kept all my course material and text in the hopes of being able to help others in this exciting subject.

I have received my K - 12 teaching certification with subject specialization of Mathematics. I have taught and tutored middle school students in 7th and 8th grade.

My main goal is to make a difference in people’s lives. I am passionate about this. I would like to transfer my knowledge to as many people – young or old – as I can reach. I want each of my students to know that they matter and that they can make a difference. I want my students to know that they can be successful, that no task is too great if you have determination and perseverance.

While some may think that teaching is similar to a popularity contest (i.e., which teacher is the “nicest” or “easiest”), my goal is to be fair in my assessments, compassionate towards each individual student, and true to myself. I hope to instill in my students the desire to learn more and strive to be better people. I hope to show my students how all subject matter is prevalent in our lives in virtually everything we do. And, a last ambition is to ignite a passion for learning that did not exist before in some of my students.

Geometry is one of my favorite disciplines in mathematics. I can help with Geometry topics including, but not limited to, points, lines, planes, parallel/perpendicular lines, transversals, triangles, similar figures, polygons, area, surface area, volume, circles, and trigonometry. It would be my pleasure to help your child make more sense of Geometry because without it, life is pointless!

I am a NJ certified K - 12 Mathematics teacher. The Linear Algebra course I took in June 2009 encompassed all things matrix. We studied solving systems of linear equations, row reduction and echelon forms, matrix operations, matrix algebra, inverse matrices, determinants, vector spaces, eigenvectors and eigenvalues, and vector equations among other topics. I have experience teaching a variation of these topics to high school seniors.
