Hi, I have ten years experience teaching English as a Second language, both here in the US and abroad with the Peace Corps. I have experience with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. My students have ranged from ages thirteen to adulthood and skill level from beginners to high intermediate. I believe in teaching English in as real to life a way as possible. Furthermore, I believe that students learn best when they can explore the language in a fun and creative way. Special Needs

Hi, I have several years experience with many different kinds of special needs. I hav worked directly with people with Mental Retardation, autism, and several other disorders. Furthermore, I have worked at a summer camp that focused directly on kids with ADD/ADHD. Here I helped to develo programs and activities to help them learn math, English, creative arts, and movement. We also focused on social and cultural activities. Recently, I have experience tutoring children with ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and several other special needs. I believe that I need to work with the student and explain information in individualized ways for that student using a variety different methods.

You're Great!

My son says his tutoring session went well. Amy's patient and is available right after school. He really is struggling in Algebra 2 and as a parent I'm hoping he improves with each meeting.
