About Donna

I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and have been teaching students with learning disabilities and disorders including ADHD and autism for 25 years. In both a self contained classroom and resource room setting, I have taught many students with issues that impede their learning. By providing them with strategies, skills, and increasing their self confidence, I have led them to success in the learning process.

As a special education teacher for the last 25 years, I have worked with hundreds of students with learning disabilities and disorders, as well as students in the general education setting. There is one important generalization that I can make about all of these students: They all have a need to feel safe and secure, feel good about themselves, and to enjoy learning. I do not try to change who they are but rather build on their talents and strengths. I have many success stories about my students.

I specialize in tutoring all elementary students, including those with special needs related to autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioral issues. I can help strengthen skills in many areas including elementary language arts, phonics, and math, as well as addressing organizational and behavioral issues. I utilize many different programs depending on student needs.

I look forward to working with your child to help them achieve their goals.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
