In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught multiple lessons using Common Core Standards. These lessons were required by my methods courses and were in the following subjects, writing, math and reading. When unsure of what a standard is stating, I have taken the time to explore it and discover its appropriate meaning.
I am currently enrolled in the professional Elementary Education school of Salisbury University. I have passed the Praxis one and am planning to take the Praxis two very shortly. I will be preforming my full time student internship in the fall of 2017.
