##### About Hersh

Hey everyone, my name is Hersh. I am a Math and Economics major from Rutgers University and I am here to assist you with all your mathematical needs.

Throughout my educational path, I have always been drawn to math because, at the time, everything i was taught in my math classes made sense to me. It wasn't until I started majoring in the subject at Rutgers that it really occurred to me why I enjoy the subject. I was drawn to math because, like most STEM subjects, the foundation of the subject is built upon a few observations about numbers, and from those observations (along with a few proofs), the rest of the subject can grow. Each additional thing you learn in math is another logical step that has been built upon the previous foundation. As such it's an easy subject to move forward in with a strong foundation.

If you've read this far you've probably realized how passionate (and nerdy) I am about math. Aside from what I've realized about the subject itself, I've also come to realize a few things regarding how people learn and teach the subject. As I mentioned earlier, Math is a subject where you can progress quickly if you have a good foundation. Conversely, if your foundation is lacking in some areas, it can create challenges along the way. These gaps in one's foundation can often times be a result of poor teaching of certain subjects. Once I realized this, I developed my teaching/tutoring style to cater to both teaching my students whatever subject matter they need to learn as well as fill in any gaps in their foundation as to strengthen their understanding of Math as a whole.

As a tutor, I try to go the extra mile when teaching my students. That means not only educating them by having them understand the subject matter. I also like to engage them in the subject, by answering the age-old "But what will I use this for" question, and empowering them by giving them the ability and understanding of how to think in a mathematical mindset.

If you've read this far, I thank you for taking the time, and I hope that I have convinced you that I am a capable tutor.

Algebra (1 & 2), Pre-Calculous, SAT (I & II) Math, Trigonometry.

I highly encourage you to contact me for your tutoring needs. I am available Tuesdays and Thursdays for most of the day, Weekends all day, and Monday/Wednesday/Friday at varying times.
