New Jersey Insitute of technology (Mechanical Eng.)
New Jersey Institute Of Technolgy (Graduate Coursework)
Hi, my name is Chak. I was a former PhD student majored in mechanical engineering and a teaching assistant at New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2007 and 2011. On September 2011, I decided to withdraw from the PhD program. My 4 years of teaching experience made me realized that I was more interested in teaching rather than researching. Before I withdrew from the PhD program, I have finished most of the required course works with a cumulative GPA of 3.97.
I started tutoring shortly after I withdrew from the PhD program. Due to my educational background, I am familiar with many of the mechanical engineering related subjects as well as math topics such as calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, probability and statistics, etc. At the same time, I am also very knowledgeable in many of the high school level math and science subjects. You can find the list of subjects that I tutor on my WyzAnt profile. Please feel free to contact me if you or your child need help on any of the subjects that I tutor. Hi, my name is Chak. Chak was wonderful this semester! He helped me understand Physics I (2D Motion and Kinematics, Projectiles, Energy, Power, Work, Momentum) for the first time. No one else explained it in a way that resonated with me. He was very patient, flexible, and professional. Sometimes, we have professors who are sub par; Chak bridged that gap and helped me get an A! I would recommend Chak in a heartbeat. Thanks so much! I look forward to working with you again next semester!
Chak helped my son feel more confident. Because of Chak my son's Calculus test was not as daunting. He end up with a much improved score than the last test.
The coffee will always be on for you Chak!!!!!!!!
Chak went over my son's math today - he was patient and able to explain the concepts so that my son could understand it.
Chak has been able to clarify math concepts for our 10th grader. Our son is very happy working with Chak. We plan to continue with him.
Chak explained the material easily and in depth. I have learned different ways of approaching problems that makes it easier and faster to complete.
Reviewing past subject has helped my daughter to keep a fresh mind and keep on top of things specially regarding school work, she haven't had her typical summer brain forgetting anything of what she saw in school the past yeat
My daughter thought Chak was a great tutor. She felt like she is understanding more by his teaching methods, and we will be scheduling another session soon!
We were pleased with him. My daughter has good base of math but still we wanted to make sure. Looks like she won't need much of a help but whenever we need again he will be on top of our list. Thanks.
I would like to recommend Chak as a tutor because he went above and beyond his duties when my son needed to finish an online Physics course. My son was sick most of his 11th grade year. He was enrolled in an online Physics course and he needed to finish the course by the end of June 2014. Almost a month before that, he started taking tutoring classes with Chak. Chak was always on time and available to our schedule needs. The last day my son scheduled with him to finish his assignments, the library, where they usually met, was closing. After asking me for my permission and since I was too far from the library, Chak drove my son to a nearby place so they could finish with the assignments. As a result, my son got a 95 on this course. Thanks to Chak.
Chak is a great tutor: very knowledgeable on all aspects of chemistry. He explains the complex material so that it is very easy to understand. I highly recommend him.
Chak is a tutor with extensive knowledge in math. I am a senior in college and Chak helped me study for my GRE Exam. Chack intelligibly explained any math problem I struggled with and broke them down into understandable constructs. I have to say his explanations were better than any of the GRE study books. He was even able to point out mistakes that the authors have made. He is very patient, easy to contact, and fun to work with! I would recommend Chak to anyone who needs extra help with math. Thanks!
Always prepared and and he prepared my son for the ACT very well and Algebra II. Very dedicated and always on time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a former PhD student at NJIT and I worked as a teaching assistant for the Mechanical Engineering Department at NJIT for about 4 years. I am familiar with a wide range of subjects that are covered in the undergraduate Mechanical Engineering curriculum, which included Kinematic, Stress analysis, Thermodynamic, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Heat transfer, CAD/CAE, etc. Since the best way to learn about these subjects is by practicing, my tutoring method will mainly involve working on problems. The tips, assumptions, technique, and theory used to solve the problem will be explained to help to understand the materials better.
