I am currently teaching in the Fairfield School District as a part time ESL Teacher. I developed and implemented the English as Second Language Department in the Fairfield School District. I presently teach K-5 grades and differentiate the lesson plans based on the student’s proficiency level. I created letters to send home to parents to explain the benefits of the ESL class as well as a consent form to teach the students. I also screened the ESL students in September to determine if they were eligible to receive ESL services. I collaborated with the mainstream teachers to create an ESL Schedule. I work with the teachers on a continued basis to supplement the content area being taught in the homeroom. I have met with all parents to discuss the progress of the student. I send home quarterly progress reports. I created the ESL material to be posted on the Fairfield School website. I attend all faculty and professional development meetings. I have my NJ ESL and Standard Teaching Certificate.
I completed a maternity leave replacement as an ESL Teacher at an elementary school in Warren, NJ. I have experience in all aspects of an ESL Teaching Position. I developed all my lesson plans, arranged an ELL class schedule, and administered the WIDA Access Testing. I am WIDA Administered-certified. I also completed my Student Teaching at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School in Asbury Park, NJ. I collaborated with the mainstream teachers on the lesson plans and schedules while at the Thurgood School. I have experience in designing and implementing individualized lessons. I have my NJ English as a Second Language Certification.
I am an excellent teacher. I am flexible and personable. I have a 4.0 GPA from the College of New Jersey Graduate School.
Also, I have over 22 years of training experience. I am an excellent presenter and trainer. I am CompTIA CDIA+ and CTT certified. I am trained in Networking Plus. I am highly organized and have excellent communication skills. I am skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
An outstanding teacher should have a positive attitude. The teacher also needs to be dedicated, educated, flexible and have a real love of teaching and education. I have been a trainer for 22 years and want to utilize all of the training skills used in the conference room and transfer them into the classroom. An outstanding teacher also needs to have computer background to be able to obtain the most current teaching material and also to differentiate the lessons to reach all student levels. There should always be new vocabulary taught in each lesson.
I look forward to a speaking with you so I can discuss my ESL lessons with you. I am currently teaching in the Fairfield School District as a part time ESL Teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
