Princeton (Graduate Coursework)
I am a graduate of Princeton University. After working for many years in the financial services industry, I returned to Princeton to complete their Teacher Preparation Program and do my student teaching. I also took a number of math courses at Princeton which was a great opportunity to study with some brilliant teachers. I am now a NJ state certified math teacher.
I enjoy teaching and have a passion for helping students succeed and overcome any type of issue that is effecting their schooling and education. In teaching math concepts, I help the student find the framework of understanding that he or she is most comfortable with. I try to adjust my focus based on the particular learning style of each student. My goal is to engage the student in the material so we can have a productive and effective session.
Feel free to contact me with questions; if selected, I will become invested in the success of your child.

My daughter has had Richard for tutoring for math and he is great! He is very patient with a great sense of humor. Can't say enough nice things about him!
Richard quickly responded to a last minute request for help prior to a college final in statistics. He reviewed some problems causing confusion resulting in better understanding of subject matter and improving final test score.
Richard helped with homework and concepts for college level Calculus II. He was thorough and patient. A clear understanding was accomplished on all of the concepts taught. Richard is a great tutor!
Richard was able to help me understand fractions and decimals. I needed to do this manually without a calculator which I had forgotten. Due to his help I was able to improve my grades where I needed. I would not hesitate to contact him again if I needed help with math.
Richard is very knowledgeable and a good communicator. My daughter has expressed that she feels much more comfortable with geometry and confident as she prepares for the school year.
Graduate Level Finance.
Richard is very brilliant but is able to make the subject matter meaningful and easy to understand.
Prompt, personable, professional, flexible, knowledgeable and effective! My 14 year old daughter is very happy with her algebra 1 tutor. Her grades and confidence have risen considerably.
Mr. B is very accommodating with scheduling. The biggest test is whether my son is learning from him-and the answer to that question is yes. So, I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. B as a tutor to anyone.
My son received an A+ on a quiz in Algebra I the very next day after meeting with Richard B for the first time.
Mr. B was extremely accessible and very patient. He was always flexible with his schedule which was very helpful with my son's schedule. His knowledge and expertise proved to be beneficial to helping my son improve his grade and ability in his class. I would recommend Mr. B as a tutor as well as request him in the future.
I studied linear algebra in college (Math 201/202 at Princeton University) and have also taken online courses offered through MIT. I am now a NJ state certified math teacher.
I have taken a variety of Praxis exams (Preprofessional Skills Test PPST, English Lang Lit Comp Content Knowledge, and Mathematics:Content Knowledge) and received the ETS Recognition of Excellence on all of them.
