I currently work in Elizabeth, NJ as a 6th grade ELA teacher. I have been with Elizabeth for the past 13 years and have taught Pre-k, 3rd grade and ELA in all three middle grades. I have lived on Old Bridge since I was 12. I have two children going through the Old Bridge School system. My husband is also a teacher in Elizabeth and teaches Middle School Math, 8th grade Algebra. After working in Elizabeth for 8 years I decided to go for Masters. I enrolled in Grand Canyon University and earned my degree in Educational Leadership. At some point this will allow me to pursue a career as an administrator which is my ultimate goal.

I have been working with kids most of my life. Starting as a babysitter, working in camp as a counselor, then moving onto working and then running a daycare. I then moved onto public school. Besides teaching and working with students during the day, I have also spent time tutoring and helping students out who are struggling with their daily assignments. I also volunteer as the head of our towns softball league, as well as being the PTA President of my younger daughters school, and on the PTA board for my older daughters school. I like to stay involved. I feel that learning where the students are struggling allows me to help them find ways to help them learn and gain confidence in what they are doing. Sometimes giving them an alternate way to understand the work makes all the difference.
