The University of Warwick, UK (Business)
I graduated top of my class with a Business degree in 2013, and I've studied in the US, UK and India. My global experiences have provided my insight into the education systems and curriculum across geographies.
Most recently, I've worked at an education company for 3 years where I specialized in college admissions prep., (some of my top admits include Harvard, Emory, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, RISD, NYU etc) and taught students SAT Math and English on an informal basis.
I have taken the SAT myself and understand that it requires much more than just preparing for the exam-it requires mental strength. I've also taught students English at the IGCSE level (Grades 9 and 10) and enjoy reading books on Economics and Education in my free time.
Some of my education heroes include Ken Robinson and Rita Pierson (have you seen their TED talks? I highly recommend it) and I believe being truly educated is a gift that not too many are privileged to access. I'm currently based in Jersey and I'm open to travelling to areas in NJ and NY to tutor.
I'm flexible with my timings so I would encourage you to contact me and we can figure a convenient time to set up our first lesson. Before I start my lesson, I would like to get to know , your back ground, your interests and what you wish to achieve. I will try my best to help you get there, academically. Most recently, I've worked at an education company for 3 years
The past 3 years, I've worked at an education company and done a lot of freelance work with respect to US and Canada college admissions counselling. I have personally mentored and coached more than 60 high-school students, guiding them with respect to their college admissions. My role primarily involved interacting with students from Grades 9-12 and their parents in one on one and group sessions and providing them insight into the US college admissions and financial aid process. I reviewed students’ application essays and personal statements, created college lists and assisted families from low-income backgrounds by helping them identify appropriate scholarships and fill their FAFSA and CSS financial aid forms. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to advice students who were looking to get recruited to a college’s athletic team (Div.1 and Div 3) and provide feedback on portfolios for those who were applying to art school.
