About Karen

After a 25-year career in finance, I'm delighted to be teaching Precalculus and Probability & Statistics at Bayonne High School.

Additionally I enjoy teaching finance & economics to graduate business students at NJCU, NJIT and Rutgers University. In the 1990s I was a doctoral student in finance at Rutgers, where I taught finance and economics to more than 1,000 students. In 1997, I received the Teaching Excellence Award at Rutgers University - Newark from the Graduate Student Government Association. This past year I received the 2016 Bayonne High School/IMTT Character Education Award.

Mentoring is important to me. When I worked for Standard & Poor's I co-founded the McGraw-Hill mentoring program. While working at GE Capital I mentored Financial Management Program employees. During the past three years I've served as a mentor to Rutgers University undergraduate business majors. I am also a Student/Partner Alliance mentor.

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT (math) and in the 98th percentile on the GMAT.

As a tutor, my method is to work through problems with you so that you will gain confidence in your problem-solving capabilities. My supportive nature will help you gain a solid understanding of the material. I look forward to working with you.
