About Joe

You are learning wrong if you are:

- Dreading studying
- Putting off studying to the last minute
- Getting anxious just thinking about this class or test
- Searching the internet for your homework answers

As a tutor for ten years, I have come across almost every type of student. Regardless of the subject, most students are focused on:

- Reading the book
- Trying to learn from a PowerPoint presentation
- Taking notes in class they will never use again
- Trying to learn in a way that doesn't work for you and your brain
- Trying to learn from Youtube videos

Instead, you need to be focused on:

- Learning according to your own individual style
- Breaking down hard concepts into simple steps
- Creating notes and methods that you can use now and in the future

Learning a new subject or studying for an exam can be stressful. When you are in a classroom, you get a "one size fits all" PowerPoint approach to teaching. If you don't understand slide 1, you most certainly will not understand slide 50. This makes going to class feel like a waste of time, energy, and mental space.

As a tutor of 10 years, I have tutored over 300 students from basic arithmetic all the way to Master's level statistics. And you know what, they all succeed in the same exact way:

Finding a method that works for YOU.

We are all unique individuals. We learn at different paces, in different ways, and respond to different cues. So why is everyone learning the same exact way?

If you want to stop learning the "one size fits all way" and ready to find a way that works for you, let's get down to business.

I will help you stop stressing about:

- Accounting (100 -400 levels)
- Finance (100-400 levels)
- Real Estate Finance (100-200 levels)
- Corporate Finance (100-400 levels)
- CFA Level 1
- CFP Retirement and Investment
- Series 7
- QuickBooks

A little about me......

I have personally always excelled in Math. In high school, I cruised through Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Pre-Calc, earning an "A" in each subject. In college, my math skills only became more refined, I earned an "A+" in Calculus my freshmen year. From there, I went on to earn my degree in Finance with honors.

After college, I earned my Series 7, Series 3, Series 63, Series 65, Life Insurance License, Health Insurance License, and became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). The CFP is a premier certification that requires 18 months of intensive course work culminated with a 10 hour, 2 day exam testing Insurance Planning, Tax Planning, Estate Planning, Investment Planning, and Retirement Planning.

I left my job at a prominent Wall Street firm in 2011 to run my own stock trading business.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I currently run my own business and understand the struggles and success of an entrepreneur. This means making good decisions under bad circumstances and things that are not taught in any text book.

I can help future entrepreneurs avoid the mistakes I made.

CFA

I have been tutoring CFA privately with other students and helped 2 students successfully pass. I have been tutoring at a Masters Level of Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Financial Statement Analysis, and Corporate Finance for over 3 years. The test is well within the scope of my expertise.

Finance

I have tutored basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Corporate Finance and currently tutor for the CFA Level 1 & 2 which contain a significant amount of Corporate Finance topics.

QuickBooks

I have run my own business for 3 years and use Quickbooks daily. I know how to use every feature and sync with bank accounts, credit cards, and create every financial statement.

I have also helped a business fix Quickbooks that is not reconciled of small business' up to 7mm of Revenue.

Series 7

I took this exam and passed it achieving a score of 91%. I was working at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney at the time. In addition, I tutored several colleagues to help them pass the exam.

Currently, I have one student who is taking the exam and I am tutoring him as well.
