Deepika is an absolutely amazing tutor. She always comes prepared with note sheets/flashcards and also makes sure to address the most important topics in a particular chapter. She also asks questions to her student to make sure they understand, so the tutoring is very interactive. Additionally, her high expectations certainly motivate her students to come prepared to the tutoring sessions as well, thereby allowing them to gain the most from the tutoring sessions! Thanks, Deepika, for all your effort! Miss you and hope everything is good!
We continue to be so pleased with Deepika. She is so accommodating with my daughters crazy schedule! Deepika is such a great teacher and role model for a student to be learning from. We are so blessed to have found her!
Thank you Pam! It is a pleasure tutoring for you daughter!
Deepika did an excellent job tutoring my child. She is extremely patient and really focused on areas that needed extra attention as well as sensing the subjects that my child already had a good grasp on. She offered many tips and suggestions for my child to work on outside of the tutoring sessions themselves. Deepika also was very flexible with her schedule times. She cares very much about the student's progress and even followed up weeks after the sessions were done to see if what the Sat scores were and whether we were happy with them. I highly recommend her.
Deepika is a great tutor! She focuses on the test taking strategies for SAT and I can see my son's progress, from the practise tests he has been taking. She plans the classes well, answers his questions clearly and give tips on how to improve more. She is also flexible and makes adjustments to suit your need.
Deepika has many great qualities. We find her to be very professional, knowledgeable, punctual, organized. Most importantly, she truly cares about teaching well! We highly recommend her.
Deepika A. did an outstanding job in preparing my son for the SAT's. She was well prepared and thorough and kept his attention throughout. His weekly assignments were a valuable part of the tutoring process and clearly contributed to his strong SAT scores. He has been accepted to every college he applied to and was awarded several merit scholarships as a result of the SAT tutoring he received from Deepika.
I was impressed with Deepika after my very first lesson with her. She is a patient, kind, and professional tutor, who always goes the extra mile to make sure that my daughter is understanding the material. She is a fantastic tutor and I am very glad to have found her through wyzant.com!
It was great to find Deepika as a tutor. It is difficult to find a good math tutor never mind a female, which I thought would be the best match for my daughter. Deepika is very, very patient!! Professional and soft spoken, she she always speaks in encouraging voice to motivate my daughter. She also has a full comprehension of the material currently being taught in our schools.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
While in my first year of medical school, I took both Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab. I used resources such as Grant's Dissector, Clinically Oriented Anatomy, and BRS Physiology, among others. I have a good grasp of commonly tested topics, and I have an organized systems based approach of teaching that integrates concepts in both fields.
I have taken Biostatistics as part of my studies during my first two years of medical school at NYCOM. I am familiar with finding incidence, prevalence, positive and negative predictive values, and relative risk, among other values. I am also familiar with types of bias, and with different statistical tests, such as t-test, chi-squared, z-test, and anova.
I have previously tutored students in strategizing for college applications. Based on their GPA and SAT score, desired location, and financial budget, I help them come up with a list of colleges that fall into 3 categories: reach schools, likely schools, and safety schools. I then help them create a timeline for completing applications and organizing extra materials. Since I am certified in writing and English, I also provide assistance in brainstorming and editing college essays. Additionally, since I am certified in SAT prep, if their SAT score is not competitive enough for the desired school, I offer SAT tutoring to help them raise their score.
I have studied microbiology extensively as part of my two years at medical school. I am familiar with gram negative vs gram postive bacteria (ex. strep vs. e coli) and I am also familiar with categorizing bacteria according to shape (ex. cocci - strep, trepenoma pallidum - spirochete). I am also well versed in viruses and parasites.
I am currently an IT Professional working at Nestle and I use Microsoft Office on a daily basis. I am well versed with its many features, including Creating and Implementing Rules, Creating Subfolders, Categorizing mail by color, flagging mail, inserting pictures, search, using the 3 pane view, and attaching files and outlook items. I am also aware of little tricks, such as forwarding an e-mail instead of replying in order to keep the attachment and an inserted picture.
Additionally, I am well versed with the Calendar features of Microsoft Outlook, and I have know how to create and set meetings and appointments, and how to integrate meetings with RSVP Client. I have also conducted and attended Live Meetings using Outlook. Moreover, I am familiar with viewing and inserting contact details.
I have used MS Windows for the past 15 years, throughout grade school, high school, college, grad school, and now as an IT Professional. I am familiar with the many word processing features, including Track Changes, Spelling and Grammar Check, Thesaurus (Shift F7), insertion of special characters/symbols, Word Art, Insertion of Tables/Excel Tables, and many more. I am also well versed in inserting text, highlighting text, and using the bold (Ctrl B), underline (Cntrl U), and italicize (Ctrl I) features. Additionally, I know how to insert headers, footers, page numbers, and page breaks.
I have studied pharmacology extensively as part of my medical school curriculum. I am well versed with the use, mechanism of actions, and adverse effects of a wide variety of drug groups, such as direct sympathomimetics (phenylephrine, methoxamine), alpha adrenergic blockers (phentolamine), antiamoebics (metronidazole), among others. I will come prepared with charts and diagrams to lessons explaining all aspects of the drugs and associated bugs.
