I have a strong passion for teaching and helping students reach their fullest academic potential. Working with students, it is very important to understand that everyone has a different way of learning. I take pride in my ability to work with individual students and become familiar with their specific learning needs. Understanding the way a student learns helps determine which teaching strategies will be most beneficial.
I am a certified teacher in grades K-6 and have experience tutoring kindergarten to eighth grade. I seek to encourage students to challenge their strengths and identify their areas of improvement. By helping students see that they are capable of succeeding, I hope to help them gain a new love for learning.
Math has always been a subject that I have excelled in. I have experience in tutoring students from kindergarten to eighth grade. I have specifically focused on math in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. I am excellent at teaching different techniques and approaches and finding which strategies best suit a student.
I am a strong advocate of balanced literacy and applying the skills necessary in becoming a fluent and proficient reader. I strive to help students master the basis of reading and writing, making them confident in their abilities and encouraging them to read topics of their interest.
I am a certified teacher in elementary education, K-6. I have experience in all subjects and the basis of the NJ Common Core Standards. I have previously tutored at the Boys and Girls Club for grades kindergarten to eighth grade in all subjects.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a recent college graduate from Montclair State University and am a certified NJ teacher in grades K-6. I have substitute taught in Freehold Boro since January, in classrooms from preschool to eighth grade. I volunteered at the boys and girls club while in college, where I assisted students with homework and ensured that they stayed on task with their classwork. I encouraged students to stay motivated through positive reinforcement and applied appropriate teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs. During my student teaching experience I worked closely with four ELL students and monitored their progress over a span of four months in reading and comprehension.
