About John

I am a corporate finance attorney admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. Through all three years of law school at Seton Hall University School of Law, I was employed by LexisNexis as a student-rep. My responsibilities included designing coursework and teaching classes related to research methodology.

I have tutored family members from grades 7 through 12 in geometry, algebra I and II, trigonometry and calculus. Prior to law school I worked for Goldman Sachs as a software developer. My teaching style is very interactive and Socratic.

My wife and I have lived in Hoboken, NJ for the last five years.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

As a practicing attorney licensed in NY and NJ, I am uniquely qualified to teach all doctrinal law subjects as well as legal research and writing skills.
