College of New Jersey (Fine Art)
I have been a substitute teacher at East Windsor Regional School District and a Kidzart instructor at three schools in East Windsor and Hightstown. Due to my work in the public schools, I have a background check approval letter that I can provide a copy of, as there is one from Wyzant. I would love the opportunity to tutor students individually.
I have a Fine Art Degree and am in the process of becoming a full time art teacher. I have a Certificate of Eligibility in K-12 Art as a teacher. I can tutor with drawing and painting, and also elementary reading, writing, vocabulary and spelling.
I see creativity having an important role in education because it is always asking us to find a solution. It is a valuable tool for students to utilize in all aspects of their lives. Encouragement, structure, and guidance go a long way in helping students see they have a unique and worthwhile quality they can share with society.
An ideal learning environment is one where students feel their input is valued and are encouraged to grow, learn, and succeed. First lesson. She has already identity what I know are my child's weaknesses and strengths. Honest about how much work he will need. My son had no complaints. Looking forward to better grades with her help.
Anna is a natural teacher. She has a down to earth, friendly personality and an obvious passion for drawing and teaching others to draw. I'm looking forward to my next class.
Thanks Anna for helping Meghana reveiw her painting. By being able to critic her own work, she will be able to do even better and push her limits. Please continue to her help focus on little details that ultimately will help enhance her picture.
Anna has been an excellent tutor. Our girls have made such incredible progress and created truly beautiful pieces of art under her guidance in just a few short months. She is clear with her direction and very patient and encouraging. Thanks!!
My father in law was visiting us for 3 weeks from Europe, and Anna gave a biweekly class to initiate him to oil painting. The result was astonishing paintings in their artistic and technical qualities. Anna is definitely a gifted teacher. She is able to adapt to her student and infuse the right amount of guidance. He really enjoyed these classes, and were the highlight of his visit. Thanks a lot Anna. He will miss your classes.
I cant believe it's been 10 months already! My son, now 9 (3rd grade) is showing significant improvement. He is now reading Despereaux and enjoying it! Thank you Anna!
Anna is great with my son. We are approaching our fourth session and already she has come up with exciting ways of keeping my son engaged in his learning.
Anna is wonderful. She has a very patient and loving approach to her tutoring. We could not have asked for a better match for our son, Mason. She is perfect for him!
We are truly lucky to have found Anna. She is a great teacher and a wonderful person. Her ability to connect with my one year old daughter and teach her concepts through play is truly superior.
While the sessions were well thought out, she was always looking for cues from my daughter and would adjust parts of the lessons depending upon feedback received through interactions with my daughter.
Anna always came up with creative lessons that were interesting, interactive and educational. My daughter was comfortable and at ease with Anna and looked forward to each session. She has grown and developed her understanding of basic concepts including numbers, colors, alphabets and motor skills under Anna’s tutelage.
I have met few people with the love for the profession and sincere interest in the students as Anna. She has the ability to shape the lives and future of many young ones. I highly recommend Anna.
Anna is a great tutor for my 10 year old who was struggling in certain areas in school. However with the help from Anna her grades from her 2nd marking period to her 3rd went up, and we couldn't have found or asked for someone as patient and sweet as Anna. She is truly a gem!
Anna is very helpful and patient with my child. She has basically changed her attitude in 4 hours of tutoring. My daughter has challenges in Reading and Spelling and since working with Anna, not only has her skills improved tremendously, so has her confidence. My daughter is attending an accelerated private school and she was very behind in the knowledge.. hiring Anna was my last resort prior to withdrawal. I am so grateful to Anna for assistance. I highly recommend Anna.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received my BFA from the College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. I have always drawn since childhood, particularly portraits. I have sold portraits and have exhibited my paintings in galleries. I would love the opportunity to tutor students in drawing.
I enjoy painting in oils, watercolor, and acrylics. I also work in pastel, color pencil and pencil. My current paintings are abstract oils. I am also creating small acrylic hand-painted ornaments of animals, that I am selling locally through Perennial Homes. The key to good drawing, is good observation, and the ability to 'see' the shapes that make up an object. Training the eye to 'see' is how we simplify the drawing process. Tutoring in drawing provides me with a wonderful outlet to do two things I truly love, teaching and drawing.
I am a substitute teacher and currently tutor in reading, writing, and vocabulary for elementary students. I have worked with students in preparing them for NJ Ask through workbooks, testing, and writing assignments.
I received my BFA from the College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. I am primarily a painter. I love using water-soluble oils, watercolor, and for smaller works, acrylics. I also work in pastel, color pencil, and pencil. I have shown my paintings in galleries and have sold three paintings to The College of New Jersey, which are now in their permanent collection. My paintings are also in private collections.
My current paintings are abstract oils. I am also creating small acrylic hand-painted ornaments of animals, that I am selling locally through Perennial Homes, Hightstown, NJ and Jersey-Made, Mt. Holly, NJ.
I also enjoy portrait painting, both people and animals. I enjoy teaching art, and have a lot of enthusiasm and patience. I have taken art classes since I was young, attending The School of Visual Arts in NYC, and later MCCC and TCNJ. The wonderful thing about learning the creative arts, is it also helps students to problem solve by 'thinking outside of the box'.
I have had the pleasure of tutoring in reading and writing for elementary students. I have also had the opportunity to work with a young adult with writing and art, as she is returning to college.
With my students, I want them to understand the importance of strong reading and writing skills, as it is the fundamental way in which we communicate. Good vocabulary, writing, and speaking enable us to express ourselves and also to appreciate and understand one another. I like to incorporate some of their interests in the assignments, as it makes it relatable for them.
In my time as a tutor through Wyzant, I have helped my elementary students prepare for NJ Ask testing, using Barron's NJ Ask series books. I have also guided students with their homework and helped them study for upcoming tests. I have also stressed organizational skills to help them prepare for testing and reports.
