I am Sam D., a recently retired award-winning journalist with the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, where I worked for 27 years. During that time I also taught English grammar and Literature at Lincoln University.

My wife, a rehabilitation counselor with The New Jersey Commission For the Blind, and I have been married for 34 years and we have raised three grown children, two of whom are amid successful careers in the digital advertising and web design fields. I have been deeply active in my community as a coach and organizer, and in 2017 I received the town's Citizen Award.

I have been an editor, writer and writing coach over my four-decade career. I also have raised three children, two of whom are now successful professionals in the field of digital marketing and communications. I have also taught at the college level and coached at the youth and high school level, and excel at tailoring my communicative skills to your child's personality.

While the headline reads "RECENTLY RETIRED", the impetus for that retirement was so that I could spend more time doing the writing I enjoy, and teaching, which I enjoy immensely. I have learned through my teaching and coaching that no two children can be treated or taught alike. Tutoring doesn't have to be drudgery -- and with me it won't be. I am easily accessible and my schedule is flexible.
