Boston University (Biology)
I am a second year pre-med biology student at Boston University. I would consider myself an extremely devoted and motivated student and love to learn. I have a passion for science and hope to move onto medical school to become a pediatrician post my undergraduate education.
During my high school years, I was both a member of the National Honors Society as well as the National Spanish Honors Society. These two societies maintained the common goal of providing tutoring assistance for both middle school and high school students in areas of academic struggle. In addition, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one.
I love helping and watching other succeed and develop a love for learning. I hope that through my tutoring assistance I can help students improve their grades, get ahead, and continue to further their knowledge.
I completed one year of honors biology and two years of International Baccalaureate (IB) biology. Overall, I have completed three years of high school biology and one year of introductory biology at the university level and received an A in all courses listed. In addition, my major is biology.
I have completed six years of Spanish throughout high school and college. I am considering taking the language up as my minor.
In high school, I took all IB courses. For those not familiar with the International Baccalaureate program, it is an organization of writing intensive and analytical classes. The program fosters well-rounded students with its focus on analytical thinking, critical reading, and encouragement of exploring a range of subjects in this manner. With this, I have taken many years of writing at the high school level and college level and received an A in all classes taken. In addition, I have had many SAT tutors myself in which I was able to reaffirm my knowledge of grammar rules.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
