Hello potential student,
I am here to help! I am a Spanish teacher, with a bachelor's degree in Spanish, and have been for over 15 years. I have lived in and traveled extensively to, with and without students, various Spanish-speaking countries over the years. These language and culture immersion experiences add greatly to my ability to convey particulars of the language and encourage cultural exploration in my teaching. I relish in opportunities to use Spanish and one way I do so is by volunteering in Spanish-speaking communities on a very regular basis. In addition to teaching Spanish, I have served as a tutor for many years and taught ESL (mostly to Spanish speakers). As an undergraduate, I minored in English so I am uniquely qualified to help students with English grammar and writing of all forms as well.
Because I am currently a classroom teacher, I have extensive access to textbooks, online resources, and cutting edge technology. I use a diagnostic method so as to regularly assess student needs and progress. In my tool kit, there are options for learners of all levels - games for vocabulary, drills for grammar, exploration for literature analysis, exercises for reading comprehension, conversational practice, etc. All in all, sessions will be individualized. Whether the focus is on preparation for assessments, homework help, or building confidence for classroom performance, I look forward to aiding in your success!
Mil gracias (Many thanks)

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
