I have been teaching Italian and Latin for over 25 years at the H.S. and College level. I am currently retired from the Fort Lee Public School system, but I am still teaching Italian at William Paterson University. I also taught Italian at Montclair State University and Rutgers University. I have extensive experience in teaching grammar and I have developed drills to practice and explain rules in the most effective and easy to learn way. Also, since I am a native speaker with notable academic credentials (I was born in Italy), I provide a unique opportunity to engage in oral communication with an authentic and well spoken speaker. You will learn not only the language, but also the culture that it expresses.

Aurelio gave great examples and practice towards very complex subjects for non Italian natives to grasp. I would highly recommend him!
My son is very happy with Aurelio. He really encourages him to learn and motivates him. He has a better understanding of Latin grammar because of him. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help.
The lesson went well. We covered pronunciation and some grammar during our first lesson together. I already speak some French and Spanish so the vocabulary came quickly. The proper pronunciation will come together as we progress.
He is very knowledgeable, patient and skilled at teaching. I especially appreciate that he corrects me when I make mistakes.
Aurelio was very thorough in his review and instruction of the "Alfabeto" and pronounciation thereof. I felt it was an hour very well spent and I learnt a lot, without being overwhelmed. I am eager to learn more via his method and look forward to my next lesson.
Aurelio is a very passionate and driven tutor. He is constantly coaching and confirming your benefit. He has an engaging personality which makes his lessons very enjoyable. I strongly recommend Aurelio.
We learned pronunciation of vowels and consonants as well as some vocabulary and rudimentary conversation. Aurelio is an excellent teacher/maestro. He addresses the student's needs and responds on point. I highly recommend this wonderful tutor!
Aurelio tutored our son this summer in preparation for him taking a summer Italian course in July at his college. Our son had challenges with Italian in his first year of college and decided to take his second semester class over the summer. Aurelio was prepared for each lesson and really worked well with our son. The foundation of the Italian language our son built with Aurelio really helped him when he took his classes in July. He did extremely well in the class and now has confidence in the language - this would not have happened without Aurelio's help.
This was my first experience working with a tutor. Aurelio was on time and prepared. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. Great lesson. Thanks Aurelio!!
Aurelio makes sure to cover all material that my son needs to review for the upcoming week. My son's understanding of Italian has improved immensely since working with Aurelio.
Aurelio is intelligent, creative, and generous. He explains grammatical rules clearly, providing well thought-out examples, quizzing in a way that makes learning most enjoyable. I could not ask for a finer tutor.
My daughter is so pleased with her tutor, if only her other languages teachers were as good as he is.
I would highly recommend Aurelio because he is a born Italian professor. He helped me a great deal and I liked the way that he taught. I really enjoyed my tutoring sessions with him.
I hired Aurelio B. as an Italian tutor for my 9th grade son who was struggling with first year Italian. He had a failing grade in the class at
the time the tutoring began. After two 90 minute sessions, my son was able to score a 90 on his Italian midterm exam. Mr. B retaught
my son 4 months of Italian in the two sessions! I could not be more pleased with the turn around in my son's performance in the class. I only
wish we had hired Mr. B sooner.
Today we finished up a 5 week session with Aurelio B. This summer work was well worth the time and expense as my son will return to high school mentally prepared and confident. Thank you Aurelio!
Aurelio is a very patient teacher with a pleasant manner. He shows interest in the style of learner you happen to be. In addition, he is very punctual and always arrives on time for lessons.
I was extremely happy with Professor Aurelio. He is skilled and patient and I am looking forward to the next lesson. The WyzAnt aspect was of course helpful in locating Aurelio and the pre pay discount will help me add additional sessions. A very nice start!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught Italian and Latin for 25 years at Fort Lee High school along with teaching part-time at William Paterson University.
