While working at an alternative school for emotionally disturbed students who also had learning difficulties and behavior issues, I worked toward and obtained my Master's Degree in Education. After receiving my degree, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant and Personal Aide within a public school. I decided to leave due to lack of full-time opportunities and took an assistant manager's position at a group home for Autistic Adults.
Due to my various teaching experiences I feel that I am equipped to motivate students and give them a natural love of learning. Modifying classroom instruction to accommodate children with different learning styles and backgrounds is one of my strongest attributes. I was trained to use ABA techniques to reach students who need extra help focusing and I teach with a "student first" approach.
I am confident that your child will benefit from our tutoring sessions and I look forward to any feedback on our progress. Therefore, you will not be billed for any lesson that doesn't meet your expectations.
In summary, I am dedicated to the educational and social success of young people, enjoy the challenges they present, and find great satisfaction working with them. My strong social conscience fuels my desire to succeed in educating our youth so they may become strong and successful members of our community.
I look forward to hearing from you to begin our journey to achieve educational success and future goals. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
