About David

I believe that all students can learn and achieve and that while mistakes are part of learning, one should not be discouraged and give up; it is too easy to give up and just "get by" with the group. That is not the point of education; education is to develop you, the individual and recognize your own unique traits and abilities. It is as much about
who you are as what you are and you must strive to be better.

I am an experienced permanently licensed teacher with over twenty years of experience in the New York City schools, and I read, write and speak Spanish. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Regents

I taught US and Global Regents History in NYC at Norman Thomas HS from 2003 -2011.
I was also a Regents tutor and can send you my annual rating sheet of "S" from my Principal if requested.

Social Studies

I have Permanent certification, New Jersey, Social Studies K-12 and just retired from NYC schools where I taught US History and Global Studies (Norman Thomas HS, 2003-11).
Evaluations and copy of license can be submitted.
