Hi,
I taught for 19 years in a variety of classroom settings; I was "Teacher of the Year," in an Educational Journal; I gave many talks on the "Diversity of Teaching Today." I am proud to be published in "Who's Who," Outstanding Recognized Top Educators.

I went back to get my Master's Degree in Education(3.9) with a double degree in Theology at Emmanuel College in Boston,MA.

After graduation I earned another Master's in Clinical Psychology.I worked with children and adults inpatient, clinics, and Private Practice. My Specialties were: Autism, ADD, ADHD, Ticks, Dyslexia, Asperger's.

I am early retired and for the past 4 years I have been "giving back," by Tutoring in the student's home or a nearby library and I have also been involved with Georgia's "NO Child Left Behind," program. All my students did well on the CRCT tests.

I am an energetic, humorous individual, who loves education and practical applications to learning styles that best meet the individual needs.
I believe each person learns a little differently than an other and that it is my job as an educator to find that style for each person/student that wants to improve himself/herself.

So, I hope this helps you to learn a little about me, my education and my style of teaching.

Elementary Education

Elementary (K-6th),

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught all subjects within my classroom for over 9 years. I was nominated "Teacher of the Year," out of over a 1000 submitted from all over the country and published in a teacher's journal. I always felt it important to indivualize each of my student's work accoring to their needs and not the norm for all. I have good organizational skills, time management, good intuition which I feel is an asset in the classroom. Do t my own study difficultes when I was very young I made it a goal to remember to be patient, calm and caring with a child whether they are super smart or slow and need a lot of help. I'm child focused and not time focused. I have tutored recently p/t with a second grader and sophomore getting them ready for their grade level tests CRCT, and AP History and AP Biology. Both students have done well from failing test grades to 95 scores recently and within a short time of tutoring. The parents were estatic at their child's quick inprovement. I am very flexible and will find the answer when I don't initially know it.
Phonics,

Phonics

Since having "BOTH" BS in ED and an M.Ed and certified shouldn't I be approved to tutor in there area I selected? Having a M.Div. wouldn't that also quality me to tutor in theology and /or religion? I spealized for 14 years in special needs, language arts, reading, creative writng and math-wouldn't this include phonics which is the basis for begining reading in primary grades in which I taught? I was a professional photographer after getting a "minor in it with my education for my BS in ED. so does this qualify me to tutor and I have so many times before in High Schools and Junior High's? I also was trained at our high school to teach Driver's Ed. which I am privately doing now with much success for older adults who need private instruction-out four I have had here in Marietta all four received their license within 2 weeks to a month. I had a second grader this past summer who could not read nor print on a pre primary level and was passed to second grade. In one month, 3x a week he could print so well his Dad could not tell the difference between his own and his son's and while Dad was on his computer working and flew out of his office one day and said,"was that my son reading?" I said yes with pride and his child gleamed with joy. Dad could not believe his son was passed into second grade without being corrected in his horrendous attempt to printing and poor lack of background in using phonics to pronounce new words never mind basic words he should have learned way back. I feel I should be wavered in many of the areas I am willing to tutor in. Respectfully, Judith P. Mucci MAC, M.Ed., M.Div.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I have tutored several students of Elementary, Middle School, and High School in Study Skills. with good success. The last student I had was an AP Biology student who had all A's until now- F's in AP classes. What she found was that she did not know how to study, she had always found her classes easy rarely studied. So, she lacked the discipline and techniques available to once again Ace her class subjects. Each student learns differently so my approach is always individualistic. I strongly believe everyone has their style of learning and it is up to the teacher/tutor to find that child's best way to learn and proceed from there. It takes more time and more patience but every child is so important that it has to be done this way. If you are interested in my services, please email me so we can setup times, frequency and afternoons, nights, and/or weekends.

I have used multi-media as a varied approach to many of the more complex readings in scirpture. I had the priledge of also being trained in Scripture during my summers at St. Michael's School of Theology and trained under International and Published Scholars who have interpreted and translated much in scripture after geological findings.

ADHD,

ADHD

I maintain my status as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner/Diplomat. I have taken a 3 hour National Exam given in each State for Master Level Clinicians with at least years of clinical work experience including both children and adults diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, among many other behavioral Psychiatric Disorders. I have worked inpatient, outpatient, state and county hospitals dealing with combined, complex disorders according to the DSM up to date. I treated both individual and social integration (Yalom) support groups for many years. With Behavioral Therapies and sometimes medications, most consumers can function well and have very successful lives.
Dyslexia,

Dyslexia

There are several students attempting exams while having dyslexia. I was trained in this area in my MA in Psych ed. I have worked with many students and adults with no reading ability/skills and helped them learn to read, take a computer driver permit test where the students could not use the mouse to answer the questions because it affected their disconnection between screen and mouse. I called and wrote to Cobb County Board of Education/DMV about this situation and got it changed! I felt these students were being discriminated against and we won! In Cobb County now anyone with Dyslexia taking a computer test can have a DMV rep "click" the mouse to the correct answer after the student orally gives the answer. This was published in local papers and I was asked to be on a TV show but declined. It's not about me but these students needing an educational advocate to re-evaluate its process of testing and the rights of the less advantaged.

Special Needs

I maintain a license in Clinical Psychology as well as advanced degrees in Education. I have worked with children of all kins of special needs/developmental disabilities in various setting. I have worked with children and adults with: ADHD, ADD, DD,CP, and thought disorders. In education it takes a very special person to work with children and their special needs/gifts. The challenge is of great importance to me as I had struggled as a small child in many areas of academia. But through good, professional tutors/teachers I was able to move on with greater self-esteem and and command of myself. I also have a rare disease with no cure and deal with it on a daily basis but with my faith and support of others I am able to overcome my obstacles. So, not only am I educationally able to help your child but also have experienced some of the same feelings inside that maybe your child identifies with. Feel free to examine my Profile and please email me to let me know if you are interested in my services through WyzAnt.

I have a Master's in Education and am presently a PhD. Candidate in Education. I have taught well over 19 years in various capacities. I was published as "Teacher of the Year," in The Instructor, a teacher's resource of ideas and information in education. I am a member of "Who's Who" as an outstanding contributor to education and my community. I was hired at an Urban League Community Center in Rhode Island to develop and implement a GED Program for dropouts, paroled young men and women with a 95% passing their GED's, and 2 students I was able to arrange with their previous high schools to have them receive their high school diploma rather than a GED. I was on Channel 2 in RI as I was invited to discuss the program I developed and implemented and discussed the high percentage of graduates of minorities. At present I am working with a 47 year old woman who only went through to the 6th grade and was asked to help her get her driver's license. This student has severe dyslexia and after 5 months of using as many possible tools to teach her(she could not read nor write) she passed her written with a 100% and aced her actual driving test. Now I am working with her on her GED. So, if you are looking for a miracle worker to help you get through your GED and with lots of experience and drive to find your best learning style, I never give up on a student, ask for me: Judi

Great tutor

I was very impressed with Judith's preparation and the patience she displayed while working with my granddaughter. Although my granddaughter was a reluctant student, Judith's creativity helped keep her interested. I highly recommend her.

Awesome Tutor

I think Judith M. is a assest to the Wyzant. She was always on time, very patient with my child who has a disability. She was easy to reach by phone if my child had any questions. I would definite recommend her.
