About Dr.

I went to two Ivy League schools (undergrad & graduate), have my MD, but am currently not licensed in the state of NJ because I am here helping my parents out while my father is sick.

I find tutoring to be both rewarding and flexible, given my circumstances. I have over 10 years experience tutoring (during college and med school) and have written practice exams for the GED and SAT review.

I have worked with disadvantaged children, those with learning disabilities, and adult ed, as well. While the majority of my students are currently h.s. math, SAT math/English and MCAT, I teach a variety of subjects, all the way up to college level biology and biostatistics. I treat every student as an individual with different needs and focuses.

I graduated medical school, Columbia University, in 2005. I took the MCAT and scored a 31 on it. I have taught several premed students in the past 10 years and am familiar with the types of questions asked on the MCAT, including the new revised 2015 MCAT.

Once again, please know that I have several years of tutoring experience, high personal performance on SAT math section. And I was a Biology major in college (Cornell), medical doctorate. I also had several years of tutoring experience, high personal performance on SAT English section. And I have taken the MCAT personally and graduated medical school.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I have taken gross anatomy, microanatomy, and done clerkships in surgery (I also took a forensic anthropology course as an undergrad at Cornell, and that was a graduate level anatomy course). I passed the USMLEs in Maryland in 2005.

Anthropology

I was an anthropology major back in college, in addition to biology. I have done field research and taken both cultural and physical/forensic anthropology courses up to the 400 level. I enjoy reading primatology and evolutionary biology articles in my spare time.

Biology

I have my medical doctorate. Additionally, I have my bachelors from Cornell University, a double major in anthropology and evolutionary biology. I have also taught AP bio for about eight years; other courses for longer than that. I have numerous other qualifications for biology, including research and field experience.

Genetics

I have taken extensive genetics courses in college and med school. These include basic genetics, population genetics, evolutionary virology and medical genetics. During medical school, I also did a medical clerkship which involved genetics research and genetics screening for Huntington's Disease.

MCAT

I graduated medical school, Columbia University, in 2005. I took the MCAT and scored a 31 on it. I have taught several premed students in the past 10 years and am familiar with the types of questions asked on the MCAT, including the new revised 2015 MCAT.

Zoology

I was a biology major at Cornell, specializing in primatology and evolutionary biology. I have taken many courses in zoology, including advanced primatology, mammology, ichthyology and entomology. I also have worked with animals my entire life, both as a vet tech and as a certified animal handler/foster trainer for the FBI EDC (Explosive Detection Canine) school in Quantico.
