About Yvette

I am a biostatistician who has been teaching statistics for over 10 years to college students, medical students, doctors and other researchers. I have also explained statistical concepts in legal cases to judges and attorneys. I have worked on biopsychosocial research studies at Cornell Medical School and currently work on nutritional studies at Rutgers University, where I identify new methods to analyze data collected in clinical trials. I have helped students complete their Master's and PhD theses, including interpreting the results of their SPSS or SAS printouts. I even help them format their deposit copy in Word! My PhD was an organizational analysis of labor market surveys and census data, so I have experience inbusiness statistics taught in MBA programs, as well. I am familiar with SPSS, SAS, R and high school level math required on the SAT and ACT. As a stress researcher for many years, I can help you learn techniques to minimize test anxiety by spaced preparation before exams.
What I love about tutoring is helping students grasp difficult concepts and feel empowered when they understand how to perform complex analyses that were too challenging for them, at first. I want the tutoring experience to be as pleasant as possible, so I welcome feedback and suggestions from students and parents on resources to use and ways to improve your tutoring experience with me. Learning is an interactive process, and I believe you will be more motivated to succeed if your have positive learning experiences!

Knowledgeable and patent

Yvette taught me how to do time study for my CSP and do time comparisons. She was very patent with me and gave my pointers from other sources that helped me. She would work with me even though I was a challenge.
