In some way, shape, or form, I have been teaching all of my life. I taught my younger siblings to read, and my constant insistence that knowledge is power helped my niece graduate high school with highest honors and remain on the Dean's list throughout her four years of college and graduate school.
I am currently working with elementary school students to improve their reading, writing, and vocabulary skills. Even though I'm not a kid anymore, I still enjoy reading children's and young adult books. I have always believed that learning can and should be fun. My students are smiling when I arrive, and they're wearing even bigger smiles at the end of our lessons! In some way, shape, or form, I have been teaching all of my life. Ms. Linda is a wonderful tutor. She is very friendly and caring which makes kids to be more comfortable with her. Ms. Linda's tutoring helped my kid to improve in her weak areas and also with vocabulary. Every week she comes fully prepared for the class. She makes sure kids are making right usage of words and also works with their grammar. I see much improvement in my daughters writing.
I'm so glad a friend of mine recommended Wyzant. Through Wyzant.com, I found the best tutor for my 11-year-old son, and she's only a couple of miles from my house! He's had 4 sessions with her so far, and his writing has improved so much. She's great at her craft, and I consider myself honored that I found her through you. She makes learning fun, which is exactly what I was looking for! I'm looking forward to having her work with him this summer and most likely into next school year.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
