Montclair State University (English Secondary Ed)
Montclair State University (Master's)
Teaching has always been my passion, from playing school as a child, to helping my friends when I was a student myself, I have always enjoyed helping people build their confidence and achieve their goals. That being said, I am currently in my 11th year teaching. Three of those years were spent at the Middle School level, and the past eight have been at the High School. My areas of expertise are encompassed in the English field and range from basic sentence and paragraph formation for the elementary levels all the way up to SAT writing and college admittance essays.
Reading is also a huge passion of mine, and my personal motto is that there is no such thing as a person who doesn't like to read, you simply just haven't what you like to read yet. I hold my Master's Degree from Montclair State University as a State Certified Reading Specialist, and have the skill set to work with students of varying learning abilities, and interest levels.
Lastly, I believe that learning is a year-round endeavor, and am available for and encourage sessions during the summer months to make sure that success is not something that is only achieved, but also maintained.
I look forward to working with you and I hope that you let me help you reach your goals!
I truly make it my mission to get to know my students interests and abilities and form a common ground with them. Once they realize that I am there to help, and see that I am too a person, they tend to open up more and once that level of trust and comfort is established success becomes imminent.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
