I am a Spanish teacher and have a Master's Degree in ESL and Bachelor Degree in English. I have taught all levels of Spanish and have helped native Spanish speakers prepare for the Alternative High School Assessment. I work very hard for my students to understand the language they are learning, whether it's Spanish or English, and always bring new ideas and materials into the classroom. I am confident that my students learn what I teach because they always request me as their teacher for the following year. I am friendly, outgoing, and very patient. If a student does not understand a concept the first time I explain it, I will explain it in different ways until it is understood, and always with a smile so the student won't get nervous and give up.
I have presented several workshops at the NJEA Teacher's Convention in Atlantic City and at the Foreign Language Educators of NJ Spring Conference. My students have won scholarships for essay writing in and Podcast contests. I am always learning new ways of teaching my students and work with my colleagues so they do the same. My daughter likes Susana. She is very patient with her. I would highly recommended her. She is always on time and teaches well.
Susana has tutored my High School son for a few weeks. She got right to the problem areas. She brought targeted exercises, used a follow up quiz and extra practice for the week. Susana's experience as a Spanish teacher really helps.
Our son has been struggling to find time and appropriate tutoring to improve his Spanish.
Susana has been great in explaining the concepts, help our son understand grammar and help him learn to speak Spanish. She is nice to our son in explaining the concepts when he does not get it
We recommend her to any parent interested in increasing their child's capability in Spanish.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
