My tutoring experience started when I was an ‘A’ biology and chemistry student at County College of Morris and was hired to work at the College’s Science Resource Center as a peer tutor. Subsequently I won the CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement in chemistry, graduated from the College with an A.S. in chemistry, and continued my education at Montclair State University, where I earned a B.S. in biochemistry.

Helping students to understand, master, and succeed in chemistry and biology is something that I find personally rewarding, and the accolades that I've received from my students over the past nine years have been highly gratifying. Even the most complex material is presented in a simple, easy-to-understand manner, and I am pleased to offer students my supplemental study materials on a variety of topics to help them succeed. For those of you who are interested in becoming a chemistry teacher in New Jersey, I also offer tutoring in the Chemistry: Content Knowledge Praxis Test (5245) required by the State of New Jersey Department of Education.

Chemistry and biology need not be esoteric, exotic hot-house plants!

Initial meeting note

My daughter thinks Randal is great and based on first impressions so do I. We will be scheduling with him going forward and will provide updates as the relationship develops. Patient, clear and knowledgeable. Just what the doctor ordered.

He helped a lot!

Randall helped me with a set of pH problems! His feedback was detailed enough that I could understand the process!

College chemistry

Amazing tutor. So helping and very punctual. I would recommend him for anyone who needs help in chemistry. He answered in time and gave me detailed answers with steps. Would definitely work with him again

Knowledgeable and patient

My daughter frustrations are gone. She asked "can we keep him?" She understands more from the tutor than her teacher. He took time to explain and made sure my daughter get it before moves on to the next. Thank you Randall.

Patient, understanding, and knowledgeable.

Randall is like me, an adult who risked everything for a new career and had to start from scratch with college courses. He knows where I am coming from as far as feeling overwhelmed. He has an natural ability and skill on this subject. I will continue to meet with him for as little by as it takes! He is flexible with my crazy schedule too! Also, I can send any questions about homework for help at any time. Very helpful!!!

Very Helpful with Organic Chem Report

Randall was very helpful with an Organic Chem report I needed help with. He asked a lot of questions of me and answered my questions. We had multiple interactions via Wyzant, text and phone. He even know my professor and tailor my help to him. Recommended.

Excellent tutor

My daughter is home for Spring break from College. She was struggling in Chem 2 and Randall helped her understand some information in one lesson (2 hours) better than she did the entire semester. He will come back again tomorrow to help her again. Too bad Randall wasn't the professor! He was very prepared (we let him know ahead of time what she needed help with) and he even supplied her with practice materials to further help her.

Above and Beyond

Randall goes above and beyond what is expected of him and has greatly helped my daughter improve her understanding of the subject matter. In addition, he is very easy to schedule lessons with, punctual and a pleasure to have met.
