Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

In addition to having been the president of my high school debate team, I also competed regionally in declamatory speaking contests. Since then my experience has included writing and editing speeches for executive-level business managers, whom I've also coached in public presentation. I also teach public presentation to college freshmen, middle school and high school students.

Writing

I've a Master of Arts degree in English and several years of college-level teaching experience as an adjunct professor in freshman composition. Note that I've also worked with students on the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.

Additionally, I'm a private business writing consultant for executive-level managers, and have produced various documents including policies/procedures manuals, speeches, analytical reports, and general correspondence.

My expertise in writing is enhanced by high performance standards, my passion for writing, and my sincere concern that recognition of its importance is waning.
