Rutgers University (Liberal Arts History)
Hello everyone, my name is Greg and I am excited for the chance to help people learn, grow and succeed in their academic career. I believe that the best way to learn is with someone who can give you undivided attention and can help you focus on your weak areas. As a matter a fact, I will tell you a little story about one of my proudest moments with a student I helped tutor in writing. She was having trouble with writing at a college level and it was her second time in a writing 2 class. With the help I provided she was able to focus on main ideas, write a thesis, and fix punctuation and run-ons. When the semester ended she came up to me and hugged me, telling me that she had passed. That was the moment that I knew that having a tutor can make all the difference in a person’s academic life and I am happy to assist those who want to succeed and reach their academic goals. I have tutored elementary level students up to college level students for multiple subjects including math, history, and writing, English as a second language and Spanish. I also have experience with religious history focusing on 1st century Christianity and bible study. I have an Associate’s degree in early elementary and secondary education and a Bachelors degree in liberal arts focusing on history. I am also skilled in historical research and writing. I have also worked as a teacher’s aide and as a substitute.
For those interested in contacting me, I tutor to what is needed by the student or parent by developing a tutoring plan that fits the student’s individual needs. I can also provide lesson plans, quizzes, study strategies and techniques. For parents interested in help with home schooling, getting lessons in before kindergarten, or getting their child up to speed with the rest of their grade, I follow the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for Pre-k to elementary level students. I am also bilingual and fluent in Spanish for those interested in learning Spanish or learning English as a second language. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
