I have worked with pre-school and kindergarten special education classes. Many of these students had difficulty in handwriting due to their physical handicaps. We have used techniques such as bigger paper with red thick lines to indicate where the top and bottom letters should go, as well as blue dotted lines for the middle of the letters. We have also used highlighters and/or dots to have the students trace the letters what we wrote to assist in forming letters. In addition, I have used dry erase boards, shaving cream on a table, magnetic boards, etc. to aide in writing. Lastly, I am familiar with using larger pencils as well.
