Barbara is doing a wonderful job with our son. He has always found math to be difficult but she has a way of explaining it to him in a way that connects. He has much more confidence in math and it has only been two sessions! The SAT aren't so scary anymore. Barbara is always very pleasant, kind and patient.
Barbara is a fantastic tutor. I reached out to her after my daughter had an accident and needed one on one teaching to help her retrain and retain the mathematics she was learning. This was in 2012. I have contacted Barbara a few times since when help was needed and she was always ready to help. I have her to thank today for preparing my daughter to advance into a challenging college career that does use math regularly. From what I have heard, the "math face" is only used for truly difficult material.
Thank you Barbara, my daughter is truly lucky we had found you.
Barbara is a fabulous tutor! My sons loved her and she was very easy to deal with. We just wish we lived closer to her during the school year.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
