I have been involved in photography for over twenty-five years that includes working with the highly regarded Commercial photographer Hank Dunning of Chelsea, NYC, The late Portrait and Commercial photographer Samuel Vandervert of Greenwich Village, NYC, Edward Tangway, an exceptional portrait photographer, Dave Lubel an outstanding action sports photographer, and Daniel M Peragine Sr, a photojournalist and darkroom technician who was employed with the Associated Press for 43 years.
In the past, I was a Marketing Manager for a large Stock and Press content provider, a General Manager for a Youth Sports Photography business, and Studio Manager for a 1 Million dollar a year Portrait Studio. While photographing for numerous firms I was always mindful to grow my own Photography Business, teaching photography to children and adults, and concentrate on photographic essays.
Recent clients include the The New York Jets "Can’t Wait" Fundraiser handled by Linebacker Bart Scott honoring Rutgers Football and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Eric LeGrand, Actors Eddie Fisher, Red Buttons, Elliot Gould and many more, Stephen Colbert’s Daughter's Sweet Sixteen, Buddy Valestro's Surprise Party and the Entire Cake Boss Family, Joey Mauro, Cake Boss Baker Daughter's Bartolina's Sweet Sixteen, The late Whitney Houston and Dionne Warwick's cousin Felica Moss-Eden, Super bowl Legendre’s of 2013, The Inserrias, owners of Shoprite, Bayer Corporation, Governor Christie, Bloomfield College Sports, Rapper Prince Dynasty and the Fillet of Soul R & B Band.
In 2014, the teaching of photography to children in grades 1 to 8 includes schools such as Alpine Middle School, Upper School of Englewood, St Peters Academy, River edge, St Anns School, Hoboken, Moriah School, Englewood, Nel Katskin Day Camp, Tenafly and Puffin Camp, Teaneck. It is an amazing opportunity to have a front row seat and watch the children create such awesome photographs. They learn how to use the camera, and are instructed to photograph an assignment. The photographs are printed that day, and then they are critiqued in the next class. This is repeated in each class, but the assignment is different. In the end, they are instructed to make a Gallery of their best photographs for the parents to come and view.
Adult workshops include one to five assignments from basic camera instruction to the production of essays. Some Workshops include: The Rule of Thirds, Composition, What is your Angle? Seeing is Believing, Basic Studio Lighting, and many more. They are conducted in my Studio or on-location. Some locations include The Hudson River, Asbury Park, NJ, Van Saun Park, Paramus NJ, Botanical Gardens in the Bronx NY and much more.
I am a Certified Professional Photographer who a graduated from the Germain School of Photography located in Manhattan, Studied Master Photography at Parsons School of Design with photographer and author George Tice and have belonged to Camera Clubs and the Professional Photographers Association to help cultivate my skill set.
My biggest inspiration was from my father who was employed by the Associated Press his entire life. From a very early age I was intrigued with photography by visiting the Press Rooms and learning how the “Wire” worked, but it took many years to find my way. It is in the past couple of years, that I feel I am making a difference in the Art of Photography.
With that in mind, it was that very moment that I realized I have the necessary potential when I was able to connect with my subject emotionally. The feeling is overwhelming, and with the proper understanding of my camera settings and light, I am able to capture that emotion.
Currently, I embark on photographic essays that express my ability to see what others can only look at with a spiritual feeling. They include a fresh look at abstract photography, photographs with words, daytime “time” photography, and Black and White photography. When you look at my photographs, I want you to feel the same emotion you feel while listening to great music. This is what I am aspiring to accomplish. If you can feel the Art, then I have done my Part!
More importantly, it is my pleasure to provide the upmost professionalism to all my clients and for you to see what I do as a meaningful contribution to the Art world. Wishing you all peace and happiness…
Always, with the light on...

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
