##### About Saroj

When I was in first grade, I had spent a whole afternoon listing as many natural numbers (1, 2, 3,...) as I could. As the numbers got longer, my notebook became messier and I realized that no matter how long I worked I would never reach the end. This fact is one among the many surprises that I have found while doing mathematics so far in my life. Another surprise is the value of pi. The idea that the pattern of digits in this holy number never repeats is quite surprising. But, for me, more surprising than this is the fact that you can never measure the radius and the diameter of a circle accurately. Because, if you could, pi would not have been irrational and also interesting and mysterious as it is now.

Just recently, I took an online course on "mathematical thinking" and I learned an interesting proof discovered by a famous Greek mathematician, Euclid. This proof proved that, just like natural numbers, primes are also infinite. When I understood this proof, I was absolutely amazed. I felt like I had found the most beautiful thing and my true love. That day, I decided that I was going to study mathematics for all my life. Okay, fellas! Why am I telling you all this crap? Well, the answer is: to make you believe that math is interesting. Once, you understand the different theories and laws of maths properly, you will know that it is not boring as it appears to many of you. And, after I show you how you can do this, I guarantee that you will enjoy it.

Now that I have talked all about maths, let me tell you about my experience of teaching maths. Since I was good in this subject from my childhood, my classmates came up to me to have their problems solved and their questions answered. In my entire life, I have done many, many hours of tutoring. I don't even count. Some of my favorite moments of my school life are the nights before the math exams. In those nights, I used to be awake late up to the midnight, for just helping my roommates and other friends for the exams. Sometimes, there used to be some problems that were quite difficult than others, and I used to have done that a lot of time for many different friends. When another guy asked me this kind of problems again, I used to tell this guy the answer straight away (because I used to have memorized this answer already), and then this guy used to become surprised ("Hmm, he did this problem on his mind???")

Another experience that I can talk here is the math discussions that I have with my brother. I asked him the prisoners' hat riddle one day. He thought about this problem for a while and he thought there was no way of solving this problem (I had also felt the same when I first saw the problem). After that, he asked me what the solution was. When I told him the solution, he smiled because it is a surprising solution. I really love this kind of moment when somebody else understands and appreciates the thing I am talking about. So, because of this, I like to tutor.
