To become proficient at all the skills needed to play basketball on a competitive level requires practice. Correct execution of fundamentals is paramount in learning to play basketball.
In my thirty plus years of coaching you first coach to the individuals strengths. You focus on improving an individual's whole game by first maximizing their present strengths. When you tutor an individual you can tailor a targeted program. Basketball should be fun. Repetitive drills often take the joy out of playing and should be used only when required.
I have found in the past while running basketball camps that having one or more individuals competing against each other accelerates the learning curve exponentially. If you hire a coach to improve your game, have a friend or two join you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
