I am also a home-schooling dad who has raised a daughter who is a nurse and and a son who is a history major in college. Basics are crucial to understanding and expanding your horizons. I can help with achieving those goals in your life. I have learned throughout the years that people learn in different ways. The key is to understand how people learn and to adjust the teaching style to the manner that best suits the learning style. I also have an 8 year old foster child.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My mathematics work has taken me from from Algebra to trigonometry to calculus at a college level. My full time work is as a Licensed professional civil engineer. For several years I taught the subjects of Hydrology and Hydraulics with a strong emphasis on the mathematics of the field. I have worked with professionals seeking registration as professional engineers in the area of civil engineers. I also worked with my daughter in her efforts to obtain her Nursing degree as well as helping her to pass her Registered Nurse registration effort.

I played varsity tennis in high school and defeated the County singles champion in three tie breaker sets (best out of 3 sets). I also played tennis in college. I know the game in a physical technique sense, a strategical sense as well as the rules for the game. I also played doubles in high school and am well familiar with the strategies of doubles play, quite different from singles play.
