Learning mathematics has always been a passion for me. As a Mathematics instructor, I am driven and committed to pass on the amazing experiences I have encountered over the years. Teaching is an intricate part of who I am as a person and as an instructor. The education that I have acquired has given me the ability to be humble, disciplined, and confident. I set teaching goals at the highest standards in order to enlighten and empower the youth I encounter.
I have served as a mathematics instructor in a high need environment for over 20 years where I have had the opportunity to successfully teach and assist in GED preparation program for young adults in the city. I have also served as an adjunct Math instructor at Essex county college in Newark, New Jersey within the past 20 years, teaching pre-college remedial math courses. I am a teaching professional with innate abilities and a passion for teaching math, experienced in individualized and classroom instruction, and lesson planning.
I have demonstrated the ability to inspire a love of mathematics in students, proficient implementation of individualized and diverse teaching methods. I have demonstrated the ability to engineer the development of students’ skills and comprehension. I have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. I have excellent written and oral communication skills. I am analytical and evaluative. I work well with others, students and educators. I have also demonstrated the ability to work well with professionals in the science, engineering and technology profession. As a Cisco certified Network Associate in 1999, I worked to support Network engineers.
I encourage students to contact me to schedule for more specific and personalize math lesson as they may need. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
