Amanda has worked with our high school son on algebra for several months and is quite simply amazing at what she does. She treats him like a peer, is extremely patient, and ensures that he understands what he is doing. She is also very easy to talk to and very quickly developed a great working rapport with our son. Our son feels comfortable asking her for help with any math question and even asking her to repeat certain explanations and instructions several times until he fully understands the concept or solution. Amanda patiently reviews the material with him until he is ready to move on. This type of one-on-one instruction with an extremely knowledgeable, patient, and easy to get along with tutor is exactly what our son needed to get back on course in a subject that was really giving him trouble. We recommend Amanda without reservation. She is great!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
