I am an elementary school teacher with over 18 years of experience working as a teacher in various grade levels from early childhood up to 3rd grade. I have worked with many students ranging from kindergarten to grade 3 in the traditional classroom setting, have worked as a paraprofessional for students with learning disabilities and am passionate about education.
My creative and goal driven balance makes me a strong tutor, and helps to build a positive relationship with my student(s). I pride myself on the ability to be flexible and open minded, and am able to get down to a students level and help them in any way possible to learn and grow as we master the skills needed to succeed. All students learn at different levels and becoming engaged in various techniques will make a difference in a students learning. One must think out of the box in order reach their students, and I know I am capable of helping others in a challenging, yet age appropriate manner.
Having worked for many years in early childhood and elementary school settings I have become comfortable with the NJCCS and am seasoned as a teacher to work with students of various learning levels. I am creative and patient, and enjoy helping students master and reinforce information and techniques, as we work to accomplish a specific skill and learn.
I am passionate about reading, and have worked with many different learning styles. I have taught many young learners the fundamentals of reading, and all areas of language arts to build upon prior knowledge and challenge their minds. Having worked with such a variety of grade levels has given me the opportunity to help children succeed and grow in the appropriate skills needed to move forward in their learning.
My schooling and qualifications have provided me with the many opportunities to provide quality, challenging and hands on experiences to help children learn and grow in all subject areas. I have taught Kindergarten science, and all subject areas in early childhood classrooms up to grade 3. I am confident in my knowledge and training to be able to successfully help any child and provide positive educational support.
I have successfully helped students grow in language arts skills from the early childhood years to grade 3. My education and experiences have provided me with the tools and drive to work with any leveled learner in a nurturing and confident manner, while acting as a guide to help them succeed.
As a teacher of early childhood and elementary age students, and a mom of a kindergartener, I am confident I can creatively challenge your child and help them grow and succeed with their education. My professional, personal and educational experiences have made me the nurturing, successful teacher I am today and I look forward to this experience of learning and success! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am fully qualified to tutor in all areas of language arts. I have worked with my early childhood education students, and elementary students in Reading and Language Arts for more than 16 years. I am skilled in connecting with students of various learning levels, and strive for success with creative and out of the box learning techniques, in the classroom and private tutoring.
