Clarks Summit University (Early Childhood Ed.)
Hello, I am a certified teacher and graduated with honors. I greatly enjoy working with kids of all ages, particularly helping them learn and helping them find the joy of learning.
I build students' sessions around their needs, finding creative ways to make the lessons and practice work appealing and enjoyable. I enjoy encouraging students' passions and being able to integrate them into their learning when possible. I just love being able to have the time to get to know each of my students on an individual basis and using the knowledge of each student to design specific lessons to both challenge and interest them at the same time.
Before starting tutoring, I meet with the student and caregiver to talk about the student's history and together set both long term and short term goals. I believe in hard work and will always challenge my students to push themselves and work toward those goals (but always with a bit of fun!). Students will have assignments to complete in addition to the time spent at tutoring to solidify concepts and provide extra practice.
I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but will work with you to reschedule if possible.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a current and active PA state certification in Early Childhood Education (n-3) and have experience substitute teaching (including long term placements) K-6.
In order to graduate with my teaching degree I had to take a handwriting course through Zaner Bloser and taught both print and cursive during my student teaching placements.
