I am a very experienced and patient tutor who loves teaching. My knowledge of classical languages enhances my expertise in instructing students not only in those languages, but also in English and social studies and the skills assessed in the critical reading and writing test sections of the SAT. Having received a BA from Middlebury College and a MA from the University of Virginia in Latin and ancient Greek, I recognize how important grades and scores are in this competitive era. My joy is to help students realize their potential. Students under my tutelage have met with extraordinary success in standardized tests (SAT, ISEE, SSAT, and GRE) coursework and college applications. I have taught in secondary schools and at the university level. Beginners of all ages and abilities are welcome (including college age).

My method of tutoring is clear and direct. I assess the student's needs by listening and posing diagnostic questions to determine our course of study. I am happy to work with any book or method that facilitates learning.

I am a full-time teacher at a local High School. Thus, I am available in the afternoon and on some weekends.

Excellent Latin tutor

Antonia was excellent working with our 8th grader. Although he does not like Latin, she identified areas of need and helped him increase his test scores. She also provided guidance as to what type of drills he should work on a daily basis to improve.
