Atlantic Cape Community College, Mays Landing,NJ (Social Work)
I graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College in May 2013 with an associate's degree in General Studies with a concentration in sociology. I made the Dean's List all four semesters that I attended ACCC, with ample dedication, motivation, and determination to be the best student I can be. Now I am currently a student at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey studying to be a social worker. After I obtain my Bachelor's degree, I plan on pursuing my Master's Degree in social work, and eventually to become clinically licensed. I have excellent study skills and always create my own study guides based on class material. I am currently a note-taker for students with learning disabilities and take detailed and organized notes based on class lectures and reading materials. Writing essays is one of my specialties and I am always helping fellow students in grammar, reading, and writing skills. I am also very knowledgeable in sociology and psychology subjects, and have taken multiple classes directly related to these subjects. Some of these classes include Intro to Sociology, Intro to Psychology, Contemporary Social Problems, Cultural Anthropology, Minorities and Intergroup Relations, Social Psychology, and Human Behavior in the Social Environment, just to name a few.
My goal in becoming a tutor for younger students is to share my knowledge and abilities with someone who can directly benefit from them. I want to help students improve their study skills, note taking skills, reading and writing skills, and proofreading and editing skills. Also, I have open availability and am very flexible with my schedule aside from work and school. I feel that the skills I can offer are proficient, modern, and extremely helpful towards students who are willing to learn and improve. I feel capable of assisting students in improving motivational skills, as well, and also to develop critical thinking skills towards academics. Ultimately I want to use my knowledge and capabilities to help students who need that extra push, or that extra hour of one-on-one time that teachers don't always have the time for. I want to be a role-model and an inspiration for elementary, middle, and high school students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
